Key Benefits:
Recommended Dosage:
Two or more capsules taken orally per day until chronic pain is relieved, then reduce dose to one capsule per day and take as needed. Use as a nutritional dietary supplement.
It is not uncommon for the pain to diminish with use and may eventually not return. Take as needed for pain.
Phenylalanine be used for depression, and is especially suited for cases where reduced brain neurotransmitter levels is the cause of the depression. The dose necessary is usually smaller than that needed for chronic pain but may require continued use.
Intended Uses:
DL-phenylalanine (DLPA) is essential amino acid that is converted to tyrosine in the body. Tyrosine is an amino acid that is used to manufacture adrenal and thyroid hormones, and is converted into the skin pigment melanin. DLPA was first isolated from the lupine plant.
DLPA has been shown to relieve chronic pain and to aid in the treatment of depression. DLPA woks by slowing down the enzymes that degrade the biological endorphins produced within the human body. Endorphins are our "natural" internal pain-killers and mood elevators. DLPA increases endorphin concentrations naturally and provides additional comfort against chronic (long- term) aches and pains, as well as helping relieve depression and premenstrual syndrome (PMS) conditions.
The simultaneous consumption of small doses of available over-the-counter painkilling drugs (such as aspirin, ibuprofen, acetaminophen) will increase the pain relieving effects of using DLPA.
Phenylalanine works very well for the treatment of recurring headaches.
DLPA helps increase brain neurotransmitter levels and thus aid in depression when these levels are low. However, DLPA may be ineffective for depression caused by environmental and other factors.
DLPA is the only "natural" pain reliever and antidepressant available.
