Intended Uses:

Folic acid is an essential B vitamin involved in normal growth, reproduction, and the formation of heme, the iron-containing protein of hemoglobin. Consumption of large amounts of folic acid can mask the clinical diagnosis of anemia caused by vitamin B12 deficiency. Folic acid has been shown to reduce birth defects when taken during the initial stages of prenatal development.

Vitamin B12 is an essential B vitamin involved in metabolism, red blood cell production, and the building of healthy nerves. Individuals who do not consume meat are at risk of vitamin B12 deficiency since the only source is from meat. Vitamin B12 deficiency produces pernicious anemia.

Zinc is an essential mineral needed for normal skin, bones, and hair; proper wound healing; insulin function; and enzymes used in digestion and respiration. Zinc is necessary for utilization of folic acid by the body.

Copper is an essential trace mineral involved in iron metabolism (essential for the formation of hemoglobin) and is a component of several enzyme systems.
